ACT | DALRO internship opportunityACT - Arts and Culture Trust10/16/2012 15:06:05
Applications are invited for a three-month arts administration internship at the Arts & Culture Trust (ACT). For the second time in 2013, ACT and the Dramatic, Artistic and Literary Rights Organisation (DALRO) will present a Musical Theatre master class, structured to offer directors and producers of amateur musicals a holistic view of the entire production process. ACT and DALRO are utilising the implementation of the master class as an opportunity to develop the skills of a young arts administrator. The internship is a full-time commitment and commences in January until 31 March 2013. The internship will offer the opportunity to gain hands-on practical experience, working closely with the ACT team on various aspects of project management. The training will build upon the Intern’s theoretical knowledge in an applied setting and contrast theory to practice. The internship is designed to refine writing, verbal, and analytical skills and to reinforce a sense of professionalism and professional work ethic. The Intern will be challenged to contemplate matters relating to project implementation, logistics, financial management, marketing, monitoring and evaluation, data collection, analysis and reporting. The candidate will gain an overall awareness of the operating structure of ACT and understand the relationship between the Trust and the community in which it operates. Applicants should be entry-level professionals and must be based in Johannesburg. Interested and suitably qualified candidates are invited to complete an online application form by no later than 15 November 2012. No late applications will be considered. ACT reserves the right to not make an appointment.
