‘Celebrating our present by reflecting on our past sporting achievements’ Join the CEO of Iziko Museums, Ms Rooksana Omar, sporting heroes, thought leaders, and communities in a discussion reflecting on our past sporting achievements, commenting on the present challenges and inspiring the future. The film about gifted but excluded Bonteheuwel swimmer and potential Olympic medallist, Derick Orderson, uncovers the story of a man and a nation in turmoil. What emerges is a portrait of a man at peace with himself, his past and his world Karen Hultzer South African Archer for Team South Africa - 2012 London Olympic Games will share her experience at the games. Brad Bing, CEO of Sporting Chance will discuss the challenges facing sport in South Africa today. We look to the future with Director Sport Development, Provincial Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Paul Hendricks. A short film ‘Strong Bones’ - an inspirational story about a team of grannies, who decided to use soccer as a means of wellbeing will also be screened.
