Sensational Jazz singer, pianist, composer Estelle Kokot brings her "Roots re-visited" tour to Lucky Bean and Afrikan Freedom Station from 11 August. Lucky Bean and the Afrikan Freedom Station present: Estelle Kokot: “The Roots Revisited Tour.” Sunday 12 and 19 August at Lucky Bean. Saturday 11 August at Afrikan Freedom Station. A star on the Jozi jazz scene in the late 80's and early 90's, Estelle Kokot reminds many of us of the fantastic times we had at Kippies, the famous old jazz club at the Market Theatre. She made her debut there in '87 with the super group Phambili, before proceeding to perform with many of the biggest names in South African jazz and to build a successful solo career here and in London. Estelle will be on piano and will be supported by Jimmy Mngwandi on acoustic bass and Clement Benny on drums. About Afrikan Freedom Station Afrikan Freedom Station is a chill spot in Westdene that is focused on multi-media exhibitions with the occasional jazz gig in the mix. Saturday 11 at 19h00.
