Do your Mandela Day act of kindness at OriginsOrigins Centre07/13/2012 09:21:21 
On Wednesday 18 July, the Wits community will be celebrating Mandela Day at Origins Centre. Members of the public are welcome to join the event. As Origins Centre is currently the site of the Mandela@94 art exhibition, and 1994 was a landmark year in South Africa’s history, we have extended the normal 67 minutes for acts of kindness on this day to 94 minutes. The event begins at 13h15 with a short performance by the new up-and-coming girl band, Luwe. The, between 13h30-15h04, participants can: *Have a photograph taken with the rising singing stars of Luwe. (Images will be published on Facebook!). *Tuck into a Mandela 94 cupcake *Donate blankets and non-perishable foods *Purchase a tree for planting at the Mandela Peace Park, Mamelodi *Join a walkabout of the Mandela@94 art exhibition Cupcakes and photographs will be on sale at R10, with proceeds going to the Wits Paediatric Fund. Blankets and non-perishable foods are destined for The Star's Operation Snowball and the JNF Walter Sisulu Environmental Centre will benefit from the proceeds of the sale of trees. ALL WELCOME!
