Rhodes Drama is currently recruiting a young, black theatre or dance practitioner committed to practical and creative teaching and research. Recognising that diversity is important in achieving excellence, Rhodes University especially encourages South African members of designated groups to apply. We are particularly interested in people wishing to pursue a career in academia, and who have strong practical skills in one or more of the following areas: dance, movement, physical theatre, choreography, acting, contemporary performance, directing. Lecturer Requirements: Masters degree with an intention to complete a PhD. Preferably taught at the undergraduate and at Honours level. Experience of developing creative practical research outputs such as theatre and dance productions. Junior Lecturer Requirements: Honours degree with an intention to complete a Masters degree. Preferably tutoring experience including practical classes. Experience of developing creative practical research outputs such as theatre and dance productions.
