Star of Cabaret to star in new cabaretLe Canard Restaurant
As the lead in Cabaret, Samantha Peo is described as “explosive brilliance”, and this she brings to intimate cabaret at Le Canard in Sandton.
Taking the adage “wine, women and song” delightfully further, Le Canard plays host to its newest cabaret “Port, Peo and Piano”.
Miss Peo will present some of the worlds most loved musical theatre anthems in a tribute to prima donnas; the leading ladies. Clifford Cooper, musician extraordinaire, will be accompanying on piano and vocals. Just two nights are scheduled for October.
Critics say “Samantha… once again shines gloriously.” She is “illustrious”, “memorable”, “deeply human, exceptional and soul-filled” say others.
Le Canard’s Chet Diepraam adds, “Samantha has undoubtedly brought the “sexy” back to cabaret”.
He continues, “Some of the country’s finest leading ladies visit us with exceptional performances, so welcoming Samantha as the Cabaret queen of the stage promises more of this exceptional entertainment. After more than a decade, we are still leaders in sourcing and providing the finest “all-in” evenings, with soiree and cabaret ticket prices including the full menu, fine entertainment and award-winning estate wines.”
With “Port, Peo and Piano”, the duo Samantha and Clifford will take a journey through personal moments, all flowing with some of the greatest musical numbers ever penned. Of course, the showstoppers from the current hit sensation, Cabaret, will be included. Chet adds. “A single singer and piano can create massive music. And to provide patrons with the opportunity to witness these stars up-close and personal, instead of on a stage with a thousand other audience members, is very special indeed.”
Award-winning restaurant Le Canard, and Chef Patron Freda Appelbaum, will be presenting a 4-course dinner, with choices, themed on the musical programme. Included in the evening’s cabaret and programme is the wine Saltare, a boutique concern in Stellenbosch, surrounded by a rose farm. Saltare (“to dance” in Latin) produce gold-medal Cap Classique, Chenin Blanc, Syrah and Bordeaux blend varietals. Winemaker Carla Pauw will personally present her “art-in-a-bottle” creations, as well as baby rose plants as gifts for patrons.
Two nights only: 12 and 13 October
Tickets are an all-inclusive R390, and can be booked directly with Le Canard, 011 884 4597, or e-mail email@example.com
