Daphne Kuhn will be presenting another challenging year of quality theatre in Sandton for 2012 – 16 productions in the theatre’s 16th year.

“Something familiar, something peculiar, something for everyone, a comedy tonight!”

This is a sneak peak at the line-up we have planned for 2012. Forget about some Scandal and the Bold and the Beautiful. If you have a craving for real drama and pure entertainment, you will be glued to the gig guide at the Old Mutual Theatre on the Square.

Local and international plays each night, satisfying revivals, steamy musicals, spicy comedies, day time performances of a school set-work, cool classical music on Fridays at lunchtime and hot, sizzling jazz on Sunday nights.


17 January – 4 February

Gaetan Schmid’s hilarious Body Language

Who would have thought that the human body could be so funny? But in Gaetan Schmid’s latest show, even the lowly goose bump gets a laugh. In his masterful hands, our body becomes a production, a stage on which many stories are played out – most of them hilarious!

Straight from sold out seasons in Cape Town, the Grahamstown National Arts Festival and the Hilton Festival, the production is not to be missed!

Scenes from Soweto

A captivating and spectacular new South African musical presented by the Soyikwa Institute of African Theatre.

Written and directed by Jennifer B. Logan with musical direction by Mxolisi Khumalo, the production stars Glen Gabela and large cast and band. It encapsulates the spirit of life in Soweto and will thrill and educate the whole family on this musical journey.

Tango Amor Show

John Logan’s 2010 Tony Award winning play Red

This thrilling and compelling new play explores the creative process and the inner conflict of one of the greatest artists of the 20th century; Mark Rothko The production stars Michael Richard and Jeremy Richard

Daphne Kuhn will present KickstArt’s production of Red fresh from the Main Grahamstown National Arts Festival, directed by Steven Stead and designed by Greg King


14 August – 1 September

Direct from Israel and festivals throughout the world Volunteer Man is an exploration into the right of a patient with an incurable illness to choose to end his life written by Dan Clancy and directed by Roy Horovitz.
