The Tshwane University of Technology's Department of Drama and Film is staging Leon Kruger's play S11 at the Rostrum Theatre, Arts Campus. The play is adapted by Pierre Ackermann and can be seen on 31 July 2010 at 19:00. In 2009, S11 was nominated among the top five finalists for the Nagtegaal Awards for newly written scripts. The never before performed production takes one on a captivating and emotional journey through the life of Rika (Carina Nel), a patient in a sanatorium. Her ex-husband, Karel (Byron Gemmell) along with Hermien (Veronique Mensah) and the nurse deal with her and her emotional well-being on a daily basis, which pushes Karel to his own limits. For the first time, Karel gets to know himself on a very different and deeper level which causes him to make a very important and difficult decision. How will this affect Rika? And how does it influence the friendship between her and Chantelle (Zonica du Bruyn)? S11 is a beautiful yet captivating drama, set on a breathtaking stage, which promises to keep your emotions stirred like never before.
