Gold Reef City Theme Park will be hosting a Brazil showcase on 3 July jam-packed with colourful celebrations, vibrant music and exciting activities.

The celebration forms part of a series of events that the Brazilian government has commissioned to create awareness and generate excitement about the 2014 FIFA World Cup that will be hosted in Brazil.

It's likely to be an electrifying day for Brazil, which will feature in a football game that might put it firmly on the road to the 2010 World Cup final. Brazilian supporters are expected to start arriving in South Africa to support their team as it fights for World Cup glory just as this event takes place, meaning that there will be plenty of atmosphere and excitement.

Look out for a central dance floor where skilled samba and capoeira dancers will be showing off their slick dance moves. A DJ will be spinning vibrant Latino and African music throughout the day.

The Brazilian band, Cabana, will bring the rhythms of South America to the Town Square with performances at 1pm and 2:30pm. Brazilian face and nail painters and street performers will turn the Town Square at Gold Reef City Theme Park into a little piece of Brazil in South Africa.

There will also be plenty of giveaways throughout the day with soccer balls, soccer shirts and more up for grabs. Authentic Brazilian snacks and drinks will be on sale at the Town Square. Visitors to Gold Reef City will be able to round off their day by watching the Brazil football team in action on the big screens at the Fan Hall at Oppenheimers.

Entrance to the Theme Park includes all rides and shows, but excludes 'Jozi's Story of Gold.' For more information, contact Gold Reef City Theme Park on 011 248 5000, e-mail info@goldreefcity.co.za or visit www.goldreefcity.co.za
