The multi award-winning performer Unathi will set the stage alight on May 15 2010, following her sell-out album launch at The Lyric Theatre last year. The modern day African Renaissance Woman, Unathi, is redefining her artistry yet again. Unathi is collaborating with musician friends for the Unathi and Friends tour that will travel the country throughout 2010 in what will be her greatest showcase to date. The first showcase was in the Eastern Cape and when asked why she was bringing the tour to Gauteng next, Unathi says: "Gauteng is my home now and I have to honour it as intensely as I have my place of birth. I also wanted to come well prepared from the first leg of the tour which was incredible." Unathi has wooed audiences of different calibres. Performing for The United Nations, she evoked such strong emotions that legendary producer Quincy Jones gave her a standing ovation and proceeded to join her on stage during her performance to sing her praises. She has shared the stage with Seal, John Legend and Youssou Ndou. At The Lyric Theatre she will proudly share the stage with Jah Seed of Bongo Maffin, Prokid and Amu. Speaking about the showcase Unathi says: "You can expect many surprises during the performance. It will be a once off performance that will ignite your souls.
