Thriller Live, the spectacular song, dance and video celebration of the music of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, will be staged for the first time in South Africa.

It will be presented by Showtime Management, 94.7 Highveld Stereo and 94.5 Kfm by arrangement with Flying Music and Key Concerts in Johannesburg at the Teatro at Montecasino from 10 August to 5 September and in Cape Town at Grandwest Casino from 9 September to 12 September.

It's time to wear your white sequined glove, take out your trilby and prepare to be blown away by Thriller Live, a spectacular, high octane song, dance and video show celebrating the music and career of Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5 which is currently ‘moonwalking' its way around the world after three acclaimed European tours and standing ovations for the past three years in London's West End.

"It's a very visual show, full of high energy, explosive choreography and incredible digital lighting that has audiences spellbound." says Hazel Feldman. "Thriller Live is so much more than a question of ‘Can you feel it?' Instead, you will feel it, see it, sing it, dance it, and ultimately, love it!"

Thriller Live includes eye-popping multi-media effects and dazzling choreography by the shows award-winning director Gary Lloyd (who has previously worked with artists including Leona Lewis, Will Young, Robbie Williams, Kelly Clarkson and Girls Aloud), plus additional choreography by 5 time MTV award-winning LaVelle Smith Jnr.

Adrian Grant, Co-Producer and Original Creator of Thriller - Live started the "Annual Michael Jackson Celebration" in 1991, when a thousand fans from across the UK descended upon the Hammersmith Palais for a party and show in honour of Michael Jackson. The celebration grew and grew, and in 2001, Michael Jackson personally attended the tenth anniversary show, which sold out at the Hammersmith Apollo. It featured 100 performers and Michael described it as ‘beautiful and incredible'. That gave him the inspiration to develop the show further and in 2005, he put Thriller Live into production.

Adrian's association with Michael Jackson spanned over 21 years, and in that time he enjoyed seeing the megastar entertain millions of people all over the world. Adrian has been privileged to have had great access to Jackson's world over the years, i.e. during the recording of the ‘Dangerous' album, ‘HIStory' album, world tours, photo and video shoots, exclusive interviews, lunches, dinners and much more. In 1994 Adrian wrote the best-selling Michael Jackson chronology - The Visual Documentary, published by Omnibus Press.

Thriller Live's award winning director/choreographer Gary Lloyd has worked with many established artists which among others include: Cliff Richard, Dame Shirley Bassey, Robin Gibb, Leona Lewis, Ray Quinn, G4, Will Young, Gareth Gates, Emma Bunton, Robbie Williams, Pink, Anastasia, Lemar, Rachel Stevens, Natasha and Daniel Bedingfield, Kelly Clarkson, Girls Aloud, Liberty X, Ordinary Boys, Blue, Atomic Kitten, Basement Jaxx, ABC, Soul II Soul and S Club 8.

The recent announcement of the show's five month extension at the Lyric Theatre in London, came just a day after Tito, Marlon and Jackie Jackson - three original members of the Jackson 5 - flew into London, where the first thing they did was see the hit celebration of their music, and the late King of Pop - Michael Jackson. The brothers loved the show, and enthused backstage on how much they had loved the singing, the choreography and the band.

In a career spanning 40 years, Michael Jackson sold an unparalleled 750 million records worldwide with the Thriller album still the world's best-selling recording of all time. Thriller Live includes over two-hours of non-stop hit songs in a show that boasts the world-class spectacle that marked their legendary live performances.

Following Michael's passing, Director & Choreographer Gary Lloyd, and Producer Adrian Grant, felt it was time to make some slight changes to the production which first played in 2006, by adding 'Gone Too Soon' as a moving tribute at the start of the show. In Act 2 fans can expect a powerful rendition of 'They Don't Care About Us', a song which was very close to Michael's heart and all that he stood for. Incidentally, Thriller Live is on stage at The Teatro at Montecasino on 29 August , the day that would have been the late Michael Jackson's 51st birthday.

Expect your favourite Jackson songs delivered by an exceptionally talented cast and live band, including the smash hits: I Want You Back, I'll Be There, Show You The Way To Go, Can You Feel It, Rock With You, She's Out Of My Life, Beat It, Billie Jean and Thriller plus many more!

You just can't ‘Beat it'. In the past year alone, more than 500 000 people in the United Kingdom have seen Thriller Live, smashing box office records at the Lyric Theatre. Productions in Germany, Italy, Poland, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland and Norway have enjoyed standing ovations. Further productions in 2010 are planned for Australia, Asia, North and South America, Canada and now, South Africa. For further show information visit www.thrillerlive.com

I am in Durban- very disspointed
that there are no shows in Durban
and it is too expensive to see the show in Cape Town. Wish there was an alternative option. Would do anything to see the show.
