Mary - the unfaithful womanWINDYBROW CENTRE FOR THE ARTS

"Mary - The Unfaithful Woman" a new South African play written and directed by the celebrated award-winning playwright Jullian Seleke- Mokoto, will run at the Windybrow Centre for the Arts from 23 October.
The play is the hard-hitting story about women who abuse their powers. The message is to tell those women to enjoy their rights and use them for the right purposes. The play was first performed in Gaborone (Botswana) during the Maitisong Arts Festival 2002 and went on to Grahamstown, 2002 National Arts Festival.
The message is carried out by three powerful actors, Dieketseng Nkosi, the writer and director of "Thokoza" a play that did very well during the Windybrow's 22nd Annual Arts Festival. Dieketseng also featured in Walter Chakela's "Madiepetsena and The Milkbird" and is currently in Muvhango for SABC2 under the directorship of Duma ka Ndlovu.
Daniel Mooi has performed in all productions written and directed by Jullian Seleke-Mokoto. In 1991, Daniel was voted as the Best Actor in Zimbabwe during the Linkfest '91 (Bulawayo) for his outstanding performance in "The Cause". In 1994, he featured in Chuck Mike's project on Squatter Camps at the Windybrow. Chuck Mike is from Nigeria.
Chief Seboa has worked with a number of directors such as Gibson Kente, John Ledwaba and has also directed plays written by Willie Tshaka.
Seleke-Mokoto, also a writer and actor is the FNB Vita Award winner for 2001/2002 for production "Shattered Dreams" which was nominated for the following categories: Best Production, Best Script, Best Director and Best Set Design. He won two awards for Best Script and Best Set Design. About Mary..The Unfaithful woman Seleke-Mokoto says "This is South African theatre at its best. Not to be missed." Amongst other productions he has written and directed are, The Cause, Out of Class, Different Faces, Hold up the Sun, The Power of Darkness and The Last Mile.
"Mary - The Unfaithful Woman" will be staged at Dalro Theatre from 23 October to 02 November, 2002.
Performances: Tuesday to Saturday at 8:15pm.
