Jozi Book Fair is an independent book fair that focuses on readers, writers and publishers. It is a national multilingual festival of languages and literatures with a social justice emphasis.
Our aims are: • to improve the public profile of SA writers • to encourage a culture of writing • to help promote a culture of reading and writing in South Africa • to give special emphasis to independent SA literatures • to promote indigenous language writing and publishing
We provide a platform for South and African writers and publishers and for new and established writers from different disciplines. There are various activities each year, as follows:
Jozi Book Fair exhibition book-launches round table discussions lectures performances writing & publishing workshops study groups community developmental projects
Jozi Book Fair is in its second year of existence, and growing. We have featured Nobel prizewinners as well as providing a platform for community level writers and writers well-known in indigenous South African languages. |
